Listening to stones
Let's take a minute,
And listen to stones,
Take one and put it to your ear,
Listen to it talk loud and clear,
Close your eyes and...
make it speak,
It says it's happy,
it's now hovering in the air,
It's taking some time to take her breath,
But there it is…
There was once a stone,
She was cold and covered in snow,
People would walk over it and not notice it,
People would crush her and make it weak,
But someone came and dug deep,
He took it and brushed the snow off of it,
She said she was glad not to be cold anymore,
But her silence said she wanted more,
But someone took her to its ear and listened…
He listened to her breath,
He listened to her stillness,
He listened to her all the time,
Then he started to hear,
He heard the story about the lake,
How could you live inside the water and not be a fish,
He heard the story about he throwing,
How even a stone remembers it has been thrown,
He heard the story about the question,
To which is answer is yes,
He heard the story about the world,
Different, yet beautiful…
He fell in love with the stories,
Only with his eyes closed,
Could he hear them,
He was in another world,
In the stone world,
Something changed in him,
His sleeping mind understood it…
That's why,
When he opened his eyes,
He couldn't remember…
That's why,
When he opened his eyes,
He only saw a stone…
He put it back down,
And he went on his way,
Someone will certainly pick it up again,
Someone will listen to the stories,
Someone will be enchanted by them,
Someone will then forget them,
I talked to a stone,
I know it's there somewhere,
But for me,
It's just inside,
All I have to do,
Is look with my eyes closed,
And every story will come back to me,
And every story will make me happy.
You have portrayed the rocks as humans who are loud and hurt-
A strong portrayal of what an ideal lover should be..
I occasionally have similar sentiments and think about what a true lover is- although it differs according to the individual preferences, attitudes, morality, perspective and such, I agree with the points you have implicitly made in your short poem.
Anyways, keep up the good work- I will have a look at more of your pieces once I get the chance (time).
Keep reading and keep commenting, I'll be happy to reply.
